Isle of Dogs, London
The Quay Club building has recently and dramatically emerged above the water’s edge at Canary Wharf in East London. The design intent for the building called for a full-length front portico visually supported on 8x 6-metre tall columns. These shaped shells contain the structural weight bearing steels. Cemento’s commission was to draw, sample and work with our Italian mould makers and manufacturers and then complete the complex installation. A specialist UHPC called Ductal was the casting concrete required. All our work was rigorously tested to pass the high environmental criteria required by the client’s project team. But it was very exciting to be part of this challenging pastiche.
